Mix beef, rice, onion and seasonings. Form into small balls. Brown in hot oil, turning frequently until light brown but not crusty on all sides. Add tomato sauce and water; mix well. Cover and simmer 45 minutes to 1 hour. Serves 4.
Notes: Regular rice cooking time is 1 hour. Precooked rice is half an hour. Precooked rice (used) follow above directions, but will not be as porcupiney. Simmer about 20 to 30 minutes.
