Pomegranate
A colorful fruit, resembling a large orange in size, which has a scarlet red leathery skin enclosing a spongy-soft, clear white pulp that contains a mass of ruby red, jewel-like edible seeds. When picked, the fruit has ripened and is shipped to market ready to serve. The inner flesh of the pomegranate can be eaten fresh, which is generally accomplished by sucking the flesh from the seeds. To remove the seeds cleanly, cut the pomegranate in half and push the inedible membrane inside out allowing the seeds to remain together.
