  • 4 pounds whole chicken
  • 1 tablespoon rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon sage
  • olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • salt & pepper
  • 1 lemon
  • 6 potatoes, quartered
  • 1 onion, large dice
  • 1 green peppers, large dice
Directions
Wash chicken. Drizzle with olive oil. Rub with rosemary, sage, garlic, salt and pepper. Put half lemon inside cavity of chicken. Squeeze other half lemon over chicken.

Bake in oven on lower rack at 450° for 30 minutes.

Add potatoes, onions, and peppers. Bake at 375° for 45-55 minutes. You can add a little water if needed. Add a foil tent if bird is getting too brown.

In large skillet, cook and stir brown sugar, salt, orange peel and butter until bubbly.

Add carrots; cook over low heat; stirring occasionally about 5 minutes or until carrots are glazed and heated through.

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup flour

  • 8 ounces Cool Whip
  • 1/4 cup chocolate syrup

  • Bring butter and water to a boil. Remove from heat; add flour. Transfer mixture to a mixing bowl.
  • Add eggs, 1 at a time. Beat mixture until shiny.
  • Put in a lightly greased 9X13 pan. Bake at 375° for 35 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and press mixture down slightly with a spatula. Cool.
  • Mix pudding, milk and cream cheese. Spread on top of the cooled cream puff crust.
  • Spread Cool Whip on top. Drizzle with chocolate. Refrigerate.

  • Garlic salt
Directions
  • Slice the bread into 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick slices.
  • Butter each side generously with the softened butter.
  • Lay buttered slices on a baking sheet and sprinkle the tops lightly with garlic salt.
  • Place under the broiler in your oven until lightly toasted on top.
  • Turn the slices over once the tops are toasted and toast the bottom side.
  • Remove from the baking sheet when they are toasted on both sides.
  • Serve and enjoy!
Note: As you are toasting the bread, the slices will not toast evenly so watch closely and take the baking sheet out and turn the slices as they get done on one side. Remove them from the pan as they get toasted on both sides. They toast pretty quickly under the broiler once they get started so be sure to watch them closely so they do not burn.

  • 1 package angel food cake mix
  • 1 package strawberry gelatin (3 oz.)
  • 1 1/4 cups hot water
  • 2 cups strawberry ice cream
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries or 10 oz. frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup whipping cream
Directions
  • Prepare angel food cake as directed on the package. Allow to cool.
  • If using fresh strawberries, clean the berries, remove hulls, and cut into quarters. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup of sugar. Mash slightly and set aside.
  • Dissolve gelatin in the hot water and then add the ice cream by spoonfuls. Stir until ice cream has melted. Place in refrigerator and chill for 20 minutes.
  • After the fresh strawberries have sat for at least 15 minutes, mash them again until they are the desired consistency. This should produce approximately 1 1/2 cups of mashed strawberries. Fold strawberries and whipping cream into the ice cream mixture.
  • Tear cooled angel food cake into pieces and place in the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking dish in a single layer.
  • Pour a layer of the strawberry mixture over the cake pieces. Continue to alternate layers of cake and mixture.
  • Place in the refrigerator and chill until set.
  • Note: Cake and mixture can also be layered in a large glass bowl.
