Slow Cooker Beef Roast Recipe

This beef roast is prepared using a slow cooker recipe that creates a tender beef roast with flavorful juices that are used to make a delicious gravy. There are many slow cooker meat recipes that provide you with a great tasting main course.
Slow Cooker Beef Roast Recipe

  • 1 beef roast (3 1/2 to 4 1/2 lbs.)
  • 1/2 cup flour, divided
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
  • 2 cups cold water
Directions
  • Suggested Beef Roast Types: Arm, Shoulder, Chuck, Bottom Round, or Rump.
  • Cut the roast into 3 or 4 smaller size chunks and dredge in 1/4 cup of flour.
  • Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of oil heated in a skillet on the stovetop and add the floured pieces of roast. Brown all sides of the meat on the stovetop.
  • After browning the meat, place it in a 4 or 5 quart slow cooker. If the roast is not very thick, place the meat on a rack to lift it up so at least the top part is out of the liquid. Pour grease from the skillet and scrape up any bits off the bottom and add them to the slow cooker.
  • Combine the remaining flour, gravy mix, soup mix, and cold water. Stir until well blended.
  • Pour the gravy mixture over the roast. Be sure that the meat is not completely covered with liquid so that it can be exposed to the steam during the cooking process.
  • Cover, turn on high, and cook for 1 hour; then turn down to low and cook for 6 to 8 hours. If it will not be possible to turn it down after an hour, begin the cooking process on low and cook for 8 to 10 hours.
  • The meat should be tender when done and should have an internal temperature of at least 145°F.
  • Remove the meat from the slow cooker and check thickness of the liquid to use as gravy. If it is too thick, add a little water, turn slow cooker on high, and cook until well heated.
  • If the liquid is too thin, make a thickener of 1 tbsp. of flour and 1/2 c. cold water. Mix well and then add a little at a time to the gravy while cooking on high in the slow cooker. Add thickener until the gravy is the desired consistency. The gravy can also be poured into a saucepan and thickened on the stovetop.
  • Slice the meat or pull it apart into small pieces. Serve with the gravy and mashed or un-mashed potatoes.

  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 3 pieces chicken bouillon
  • 1 package cream cheese softened (8 ounce package)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
In a large pot of lightly salted boiling water, cook the potatoes, garlic, and bouillon until potatoes are tender but firm, about 15 minutes. Drain, reserving water.

In a bowl, mash potatoes with sour cream and cream cheese, adding reserved water as needed to attain desired consistency.

Transfer the potato mixture to a slow cooker, cover, and cook on Low for 2-3 hours. It can be helpful to spray slow cooker with cooking spray or use a liner.

Just before serving, stir in butter and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Directions
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Mix all of the corn, butter, milk, eggs, 1 package of crackers, sugar, salt, and pepper together.
  • Place in a baking dish. Sprinkle the other package of crackers on top.
  • Bake for 45-60 minutes.

  • 1 package oreo cookie crumb pie crust (6 ounce)
Directions
Pour 3/4 cup milk into medium bowl. Add chocolate pudding mix, beat with wire whisk for 1 minute.

Gently stir in 1/2 of the Cool Whip. Spoon evenly over crust.

Pour remaining milk into another medium bowl. Add white chocolate pudding, beat with wire whisk for 1 minute. Gently stir in remaining Cool Whip. Spread over chocolate layer in pie crust.

Refrigerate 4 hours or until set.

Garnish with shaved chocolate if desired.

Directions
Preheat broiler.

In a large bowl, combine first 6 ingredients. Add chicken to bowl and toss to coat. Place chicken on a broiler pan coated with cooking spray. Broil chicken for 5 minutes on each side.

In a small bowl, stir the honey and vinegar together until well combined. Remove chicken from the oven; brush 1/4 cup of the honey mixture on the chicken. Return to oven and broil for 1 minute.

Remove chicken from oven and turn over, then brush with remaining honey mixture. Broil for 1 additional minute or until chicken is done.

NOTE: Chicken breasts may also be used, but will need to be cooked a little longer.

Put a wok or electric skillet on high heat. Add oil to pan.

Whisk eggs in small bowl. Put the eggs in the heated pan and scramble very quickly. Stop heat and remove the scrambled eggs from pan into dish.

Add more oil. Sauté vegetables and meat until softened.

Add garlic salt, chicken bouillon and rice; stir well.

Add the scrambled eggs and mix together. Turn heat down to low, add soy sauce, and stir quickly.

  • In a large bowl, add the salad dressing, milk, sugar, onion salt, salt, and pepper; stir until smooth.
  • Add the pasta shells, egg mixture, celery, cheese, and red peppers; stir until everything is evenly coated.
  • Add tuna, chicken, or ham; stir together and refrigerate until chilled.

  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour

  • 2 cups coarsely chopped fresh or frozen corn kernels. Approximately 2 large ears of corn.
  • 1 cup warm water - use only as much as you need
  • 5 tablespoons vegetable oil for frying

  • Whisk together masa harina, flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
  • Stir in corn and cheese.
  • Add 1/4 cup water at a time, stirring after each addition until mixture holds together. (Usually takes approximately 1 cup total.)
  • Heat 1/4 c oil in fry pan or cast iron skillet over medium heat until hot but not smoking.
  • Meanwhile, shape 1/3 cup of mixture with your hands to form a patty that is approximately 1/3 inch think.
  • Repeat with remaining mixture, making 8 patties.
  • Working in batches of 4, fry patties, turning once, until golden brown. This takes approximately 2-4 minutes per side.
  • Using a slotted spoon, transfer to a paper towel to drain.
  • If pan becomes dry, add more oil as you go.
  • Cover patties with foil to keep them warm until ready to serve.

Add oil and toss until legs are coated.

Spread legs onto one or two rimmed baking sheets or roasting pan and place in the oven. Cook, using tongs to flip legs occasionally, approx 40 minutes or until meat easily separates from the bone.

Melt butter in baking dish in 375° degree oven

Cut potatoes into wedges.

Combine Parmesan cheese, flour and seasonings in a large zipper bag. Add potatoes and shake a few at a time in mixture until coated.

Place potatoes in single layer in dish. Bake at 375° for 45 minutes, turning once while baking.

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion , chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic , minced
  • 16 ounces frozen green peas
  • 1 tablespoon chicken stock
  • salt and pepper to taste
Directions
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Stir in onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 more minute. Add frozen peas and chicken stock. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cover, and cook until the peas are tender, about 6-8 minutes.

Cashew Lettuce Salad with Vinaigrette Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 head Romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped
  • 1 head cauliflower, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons prepared mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup cashews (or as desired)
Directions
Chop and blend lettuce and vegetables. Toss with cashews.

For dressing, mix all ingredients well in a blender. Pour over salad.

NOTE: Only dress the greens you will be using and refrigerate the remaining dressing for later use. This will keep the lettuce from wilting.

  • 1 package white cake mix, including ingredients for preparation
  • 1 tube food coloring
  • 1 carton frosting
Directions
Preheat oven to package directions. Grease and flour 3 8-inch cake pans.

Prepare cake according to package directions.

Separate evenly into 3 bowls. Using the food coloring, tint each bowl differently.

Bake according to package directions; allow to cool.

Remove from pans and slice tops off cakes so they are all level.

Place bottom layer onto cake plate. Frost top with frosting. Repeat with each layer.

NOTE: Use your creativity in coloring the layers. Either tint one bowl lighter and each one getting darker after that, or each bowl a different color.
