Make Ahead Sloppy Joe Recipe

Ingredients
  • 5 pounds ground beef
  • 28 ounces ketchup
  • 1 package dry onion soup mix
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sorgum or molasses
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
Directions
PREP

15 mins
READY IN
25 mins
Cook ground beef until no longer pink; drain.

Add ingredients one at a time, stirring after each.

Simmer 15 minutes.

Cool and store or freeze in plastic container or zip bag until ready to use. Reheat and serve.

Having a crowd and little time? No slicing or dicing. Make this ahead of time up to 5 days for better flavor. Freezes well. Serve with hamburger buns and pickles.

"I was looking for a different recipe for sloppy joes. I usually use chicken gumbo but the molasses interested me. This was really good. I think I prefer the gumbo one better since I like them a little sloppier, but these were right up there."
