Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds round steak
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon Salt
3 tablespoons Crisco
1 can stewed tomatoes (16 ounce)
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup carrots
2 tablespoons chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup shredded American Cheese
Directions
Cut meat into serving portions. Combine flour and salt. Pound into meat, reserving flour for sauce. Brown meat in hot Crisco. Transfer meat to shallow baking dish. Blend flour into pan drippings in skillet. Add tomatoes, celery, carrots, onions, Worchestershire sauce and cook, stirring constantly until mixture boils. Pour over meat, cover and bake at 350° for 2 hours. Sprinkle cheese over meat. Return to oven to melt cheese.
