Southern Burger Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion chopped, optional
  • 2 cans chicken gumbo or vegetable soup
  • 1 can water or sub. 1 can dice tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • Pepper to taste
Directions
Brown beef in heavy skillet. Drain off fat. Add onions and cook until soft. Add the remaining ingredients. Stir to combine. Bring to simmer and simmer for 30 minutes. Add water if necessary to maintain Sloppy Joe consistency. Serve over buns, bread, mashed potatoes, or noodles.
