CORN BREAD TAMALE PIE Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 Ground Beef
  • 1 onion, chopped (large)
  • 1 tomato soup or cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 water
  • 1 Salt
  • 1/4 pepper
  • 1 Chili Powder
  • 1 whole kernel corn, drained canned or frozen
  • 1/2 chopped green pepper
  • 3/4 cornmeal
  • 1 flour
  • 1 sugar
  • 1/2 Salt
  • 1 1/2 baking powder
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/3 milk
  • 1 oil
Directions
Lightly brown ground beef and onion. Add soup, water, seasonings, corn and green pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes. For topping, sift together remaining dry ingredients and add beaten egg and milk, stirring lightly until combined. Fold in melted oil. Place meat mixture into a greased baking dish. Cover with corn bread topping. Bake 20-25 minutes at 400 degrees. 6 servings.
