Sesame Broccoli Recipe

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 pound broccoli, cut or 12 ounce pre-cut broccoli florets
  • 4 teaspoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dark sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
Put sesame seeds in small, dry, nonstick pan over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring often, until lightly toasted, 3-5 minutes. Set aside. In large pot fitted with steamer basket, bring 1 inch water to boil. Add broccoli, cover and steam until tender, 7-9 minutes. Transfer to a serving bowl. Toss with soy sauce, sesame oil and pepper. Garnish with sesame seeds.
