Graham Cracker Chewy Bars Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 2/3 cups graham cracker crumbs, divided
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 brown sugar
  • 4 extra large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • powdered sugar, if desired
Directions
Heat oven to 350°. In bowl beat 3 cups cracker crumbs, butter, sugar and flour until well blended. Press firmly into 9" x 13" pan. Bake until golden brown, 10 to 15 minutes. While crust is baking, whisk together brown sugar, eggs until blended. Whisk in 2/3 cup graham crackers, vanilla, salt, baking powder until well blended. Stir in pecans. Spread mixture over baked crust. Return to oven (350°) until filling is golden brown on top and giggles sightly, 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from oven. Cool completely. Sprinkle a light coating of powdered sugar over bars is desired. Bars can be made 1 day in advance. Wrap in plastic, Keep at room temperature.
