Best French Apple Pie Recipe

  • Serves: 8
  • 1 pound sliced apples
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 stick Butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 cup Pecans
  • 2 9) pie crusts
Preheat oven to 450°. Line 9 inch pie plate with crust. Place sliced apples on top of crust. Sprinkle with lemon juice, nutmeg and cinnamon. Add sugar and raisins. In bowl: mix brown sugar, flour and butter. Spread over pie. Sprinkle pecans. Add most of the milk and cover the pie with the top crust. Prick top crust with fork for venting. Brush with remaining milk. Bake at 450° for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 350° and bake for 30 minutes or until done.
