Ingredients
PIE:
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup corn starch
1 1/3 cups grape juice
2 Eggs
2 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 baked pie shell
MERINGUE:
2 egg whites
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/4 cup sugar
Directions
PIE: Mix sugar and corn starch in a sauce pan stir in grape juice, cook over medium to high heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils. Boil one minute. stir egg yolks in mixture. Boil one minute longer. Remove from heat. Continue stirring until smooth. Blend in lemon juice and butter then pour into shell. MERINGUE: Beat egg whites with cream of tartar and sugar until frothy. Beat until stiff and glossy. Pile into pie filling. Place in 400F oven until meringue is browned.
