Swedish Tosca (Torte) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 6 eggs
  • 7 1/2 ounces butter, melted (1 stick = 4 ounce)
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon almond flavoring
  • Topping
  • 1 1/4 cups sliced almonds
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 5 ounces butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 3 tablespoons milk
Directions
Beat eggs until light and foamy. Pour in melted butter. Add sugar, flour and almond flavoring. Stir well. Dump into 3 greased and floured metal pie plates. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes. While this is baking, prepare topping; combine all topping ingredients and cook just until it is starting to boil. Remove from heat. When torte has baked for 25 minutes, remove all plates from oven and pour topping mixture evenly over the 3 tortes. Return to oven and bake an additional 10 minutes. Cool. Cut in wedges to serve.
