Devil's Food Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Icing;
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup cocoa
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
Cream oil and sugar. Add eggs and buttermilk. Add flour, cocoa and soda. Add boiling water and vanilla. Bake at 350 in a 9x13" pan for 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean from center. Let cake cool before icing. Beat all icing ingredients adding more milk or more powdered sugar to a good spreading consistency.
