Butter Pecan Rum Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 box Betty Crocker SuperMoist butter pecan cake mix
  • 1 box 4 serving size) vanilla instant pudding
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup dark rum or 2 teaspoon imitation rum extract
  • 4 eggs
  • Vanilla frosting
  • 2 teaspoons rum or 1/2 teaspoon imitation rum extract
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
Directions
Heat oven to 325. Grease & flour 12 cup bundt pan. In large bowl beat cake mix, pudding mix, water, butter, rum, & eggs on low speed for 30 seconds. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Spread in baking pan.

Bake 46 - 52 minutes or until passes toothpick test. Cool 15 minutes & remove from pan.Cool completely about 2 hours.

Frost with vanilla frosting that has been placed in microwave for 15 seconds (will be somewhat runny). Add rum to frosting mixture and gently pour over cake. Sprinkle chopped pecans. Makes 16 servings.
