Potato Soup (I) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 6 or small potatoes, cut up (medium)
  • 1 onion, cut up (large)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (approx.)
  • 4 cups water (or more)
  • butter
  • 1 cup canned milk
Directions
Put potatoes, onion, salt and water in a kettle. Boil until done-about 20 minutes. Turn off heat. Lightly mash with a potato masher. Put in a BIG lump of butter and add canned milk. Soup will get thicker as it sets. May add more water after sitting the next day.
