Scratch Cake Recipe

  • 2 sugar
  • 2 1/2 plain flour
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 buttermilk
  • 1 vanilla
  • 1 baking soda
  • 1 vinegar
  • 1/2 Crisco or margarine
  • Melt very well
  • 1/4 milk
  • 1/2 butter
  • 3/4 sugar
Cream Crisco and sugar; mix well. Add 1 egg at a time, mixing well. Add flour , milk, and vanilla. Put vinegar in a dish or cup, then, stirring well. Add baking soda. After dissolved, fold into batter last. Bake in 2 or 3 layers at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes or until done. Melt next ingredients. Pour on top of each layer of cake before icing to make moister and richer. Ice cake with your favorite icing.
