Cookie Sheet Cake 2 Recipe

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 cup oleo
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • Chocolate Frosting
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 1 box confectioners sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
Mix flour, sugar and salt. Mix water, cocoa, oleo and bring to a boil; pour over flour mixture. Mix well. Mix, then add eggs, baking soda and buttermilk. Bake in a greased and floured shallow cake pan (15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1) for 20 minutes at 350°. Start the icing the last 5 minutes cake is baking.

Chocolate Frosting: Mix oleo, cocoa and milk in saucepan. Heat over low flame, but do not boil. Remove from heat and add confectioner's sugar, pecans and vanilla. Mix and pour over sheet cake as soon as removed from oven.
