Fudge Nut Bars 7 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 1/2 cups Flour
  • 3 cups quick-rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons soda
  • Fudge Nut Filling
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 12 ounces chocolate chips
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
Directions
Cream together butter and sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda and salt, stir in rolled oats. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Set aside while you make filling.

In saucepan over boiling water, mix chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, butter and salt. Stir until mixture is smooth. Add nuts and vanilla. Spread about 2/3 of oatmeal mixture in bottom of a greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch jelly roll pan. Cover with chocolate mixture and swirl it. Spread remaining 1/3 oatmeal mixture over the top. Bake at 350° for 25-30 min or until lightly browned.

Makes about 60 - 2 inch bars.
