Texas Sheet Cake 29 Recipe

  • Cake
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • Chocolate Frosting
  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 6 teaspoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 box confectioners sugar (1 lb Box)
Preheat oven to 350°. Bring cocoa, water and butter to a boil, remove from heat. Add sugar, salt, flour, baking soda and mix well. Then add eggs and buttermilk. Bake in a jelly roll pan or a 9x13 pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Frosting; bring butter, milk and cocoa to a light boil remove from heat, add sugar and vanilla. Pour over cake when it comes out of the oven.
