Apple Cake 44 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 apples (peel and slice thin) (medium)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a tube pan well. Place peeled and thinly sliced apples in a bowl. Sprinkle with 2 T. sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon. Set aside. Beat eggs. Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add oil. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add alternately with orange juice to the egg mixture. Add vanilla. Place into a well-greased tube pan, alternating with layers of batter and apples. Bake for 1 hour, 15 minutes.
