Personal Grilled Breakfast Pizza Recipe

Nothing like firing up the grill first thing in the morning. On a camping trip, on the boat, or in the back yard, the start of the day becomes a harbinger for real enjoyment with a grilled breakfast. With GrillGrates, you can make the most delicious breakfast in a pizza form using traditional breakfast fare: eggs, bacon, sausage, mild cheeses, even grilled grapefruit as a garnish with a zing on the side!

Ingredients
  • CRUST
  • To make your own crust, see Homemade Pizza Crust for Grilling.

  • TOPPINGS
  • 6 Strips of pan fried bacon
  • 2 Pan fried sausages or 4 links, crumbled or chopped
  • 6 Scrambled eggs in a pan
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup monterey jack cheese, grated
  • 1/4 cup pepper jack cheese, grated
  • 2 Chopped fresh tomatoes, squeezed and chopped
Directions
BUILD YOUR PERSONAL GRILLED BREAKFAST PIZZA:
  • Place each ingredient into a small bowl, so that each person can select and build their own personal pizza.
  • Preheat your GrillGrates (5 to 8 minutes) on Low-Low/Med HEAT with Lid Down. For charcoal, preheat GrillGrates after the red hot peak, gray coals only. Lid Down.
  • Place pizzas on your preheated GrillGrates, Grill pizzas on Low Heat with Lid Down, approximately 8 minutes, after 6 minutes, quarter turn with The GrateTool. For charcoal, grill after the red hot peak, gray coals only, approximately 8 minutes, quarter turn with The GrateTool after 6 minutes.
NOTE:
  • Judge the initial sear marks after 4 minutes to get an indication of how hot you are cooking. If the sear marks are dark to black when you lift pizza to check bottom, you are cooking too hot, turn down the burners.
GARNISH:
  • Cut rounds of pink grapefruit make a delicious side to a breakfast pizza. The grapefruit's natural sugars caramelize in the heat of the grill. Turn often, every 3 minutes, until grilled.
