Noodle Kugel Recipe

  • 12 ounces Dutch noodles, cooked
  • 1 package cream cheese (8 ounce pkg)
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups cornflakes, crushed
  • 3/4 stick butter
  • cinnamon/sugar mixture
  • pinch of ground cloves
Preheat oven to 350. In a large mixing bowl, blend cream cheese and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add sour cream, vanilla, lemon juice and milk, beating slowly. Gently, fold in noodles. Prepare a roasting pan by melting the butter in it. When melted, pour the excess butter into the cornflake crumbs. Pour noodle mixture into pan. Top with the cornflake crumbs, spreading evenly across the top. Finish by sprinkling the cinnamon sugar mix (mixed to taste) and pinch of cloves over the top.

Bake, approximately, 45 minutes until set. Serve warm or chilled. Serves 16.
