Roasted asparagus is had to beat but the sauce really adds a nice flavor. The browned butter gives the sauce a slightly nutty flavor.

  • 1 bunch asparagus , trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Place asparagus on a baking sheet. Coat with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  • Bake asparagus until tender, approximately 12 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook until lightly brown in color. Remove from heat; stir in soy sauce and balsamic vinegar.
  • Pour sauce over the baked asparagus to serve.
