Spicy Sausage Wraps Recipe

  • 6 large slices white bread
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1/3 cup cheddar cheese - shredded
  • 6 broiled Premio Hot Sausages
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Relish
  • 1 cup jicama - peeled and cut into julienne strips
  • 1/2 cup corn kernels - cooked
  • 1/4 cup roasted red bell pepper - chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sliced black olives
  • 1 jalapeno pepper - seeded and minced
  • 1 green onion - minced
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro - snipped
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • Cut the crusts from the bread.
  • With a rolling pin roll bread slices to make them flexible.
  • Spread salsa on one side of each bread slice, and then sprinkle on the cheese.
  • Place a cooked sausage at the top of each bread slice.
  • Roll up firmly seam side down on a baking sheet.
  • Secure each roll with a pick, then brush the top and sides with the oil.
  • Bake at 375 degrees F. 10-12 minutes or till the bread is golden brown and crisp.
  • Combine the ingredients for the relish in a small bowl till well mixed.
  • Remove the picks from the sausage wraps and serve topped with some relish.
