Italian Sausage Sandwiches Recipe

  • 1 baguette
  • 2 pounds Italian sausage
  • 6 monterey jack cheese - slices
  • 1 onion - yellow and sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper - sliced
  • butter - enough to spread on bread
  • parmesan cheese - to taste
  • garlic salt - to taste
  • Cut the baguette lengthwise and spread it with butter, parmesan cheese, and garlic salt.
  • Toast baguettes in the broiler.
  • In the meantime cook the sausage in water to cook through.
  • Remove the water and sausage.
  • Add a little olive oil and fry the onions, once caramelized remove the onions and fry the sausage.
  • After they are fried to your brownness slice the sausage on a diagonal.
  • Slice your cheese and cover the bread with the slices, return to the broiler to melt the cheese. Once melted add the green peppers sausage and caramelized onions.
  • Put the sandwich together and enjoy.
