Premio Bratwurst Biscuits with Vegetables Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 package Premio Bratwurst, cut into 1 inch pieces and cooked 6 minutes
  • 1/2 cup onion - diced
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon lime pepper
  • 1 can petite diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 3/4 cup cooked broccoli
  • 1/4 cup red bell pepper - diced
  • 1/4 cup cut green beans - cooked
  • DOUGH:
  • 1 cup self rising flour
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 cup cooked Premio bratwurst slices
  • 1/2 cup 2% milk
Directions
  • Heat oven to 425 degrees F.
  • In large skillet heat canola oil.
  • Cook onion until tender, remove from heat.
  • Stir in flour and lime pepper.
  • Cook over low heat until mixture is bubbly.
  • Remove from heat and add tomatoes.
  • Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
  • Stir in bratwurst, broccoli, red bell pepper and green beans.
  • Heat to boiling.
  • Pour into ungreased baking pan 8x8x2.
  • Place in oven.
  • Prepare bratwurst dough.
  • Measure dry ingredients into bowl.
  • Cut in shortening until mixture looks like meal.
  • Stir in bratwurst and milk.
  • Drop dough over hot bratwurst and vegetable mixture.
  • Bake uncovered 30-35 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
