Sausage Stuffed Chicken Breasts Recipe

  • 6 boneless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 pound Italian sausage
  • 2 tablespoons celery - chopped
  • 2 tablespoons onion - chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 small package stuffing mix
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup wine
  • 4 ounces mushrooms
  • Saute sausage, celery, and onion.
  • Reduce heat and mix in stuffing mix and egg.
  • Place mixture into chicken breasts, secure with toothpicks.
  • Brush with melted butter and roll in breadcrumbs.
  • Place in baking dish with 1/4 cup oil and 1/4 cup wine.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes.
  • Add mushrooms and cook another 15
  • minutes.
  • Transfer to serving platter.
  • Pour liquid and mushrooms over chicken.
