Delicious twist on an old stand-by. The asian flavor really adds to the green beans.

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon miso paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 4 cloves garlic - minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger - grated
  • 8 ounces green beans - trimmed

  • In a small pan, toast the sesame seeds over medium heat until lightly browned and fragrant; set aside.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the soy sauce, miso paste, red pepper flakes, garlic and ginger; set aside.
  • Steam the green beans over a pot with one inch of boiling water for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat. Transfer beans to a serving dish.
  • Pour prepared sauce over the green beans and toss to coat. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
