TEXAS CHOCOLATE CAKE Recipe

Ingredients
  • Cake
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Frosting
  • 6 tablespoons evaporated milk
  • 1 cup butter
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 cup nuts
  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
Put flour, sugar, and salt in large bowl. In a heavy pan boil butter, water, and cocoa. Remove cocoa mixture from heat as soon as it boils and add immediately to dry ingredients. Add sour cream, eggs and baking soda, mix until well blended. Batter will be very thin. Bake in 9 x 13 inch greased and floured pan at 375° for 25 - 30 minutes. Be ready to frost as soon as it comes out of the oven. Boil the canned milk, butter and cocoa until bubbly. Stir in nuts, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
