Whiskey Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 Eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup whiskey
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or slivered almonds (if desired)
  • 1 cup raisins or dates or glazed fruit (if desired)
Directions
Cream together butter and sugar: add eggs and beat until mixed. Stir in flour mixed with baking soda. When flour is incorporated, add remaining ingredients. Mix as little as possible to avoid tough cookies.

Drop onto cookie sheets w/ a teaspoon and bake in preheated oven 350 degree oven until edges are golden. Remove and cool. Store in airtight container.

NOTE: Rum, Amaretto, Strega (Galliano) or Italian Walnut flavor liqueur may be substituted for the Whiskey. Don't worry about the alcohol unless you have an allergy; most of it evaporates in the baking and during storage.
