Pizza Sauce Recipe

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 onions - chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green pepper - chopped
  • 14 cups tomatoes
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons canning salt
  • 2 tablespoons parsley flakes
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 12 ounces tomato paste

  • Cook in 3 tbsp. olive oil - onion, garlic, and green pepper in large pan.
  • Peel and chop tomatoes, add to onion, pepper and garlic. Bring to a boil.
  • Add remaining ingredients. Simmer for one hour stirring often.
  • Add tomato paste. Simmer to desired thickness, could take 4-5 hours.
  • Pour into jars. Seal with canning lids.
  • Place jars in covered hot water bath. Bring to a boil and let sit in water until water is cool.
