Chocolate Pecan Cheesecake Bars Recipe

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • Filling
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
In a large bowl, combine cake mix, butter and egg. Mix on low speed until just combined. Stir in pecans. Reserve 1 C. for topping; set aside. Press remaining mixture into a greased 9x13 inch pan. For filling, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Add remaining filling ingredients and beat until smooth. Pour over crust. Top with reserved crust. Sprinkle top with mini chocolate chips and more nuts, if desired. Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until center is puffed and edges are just beginning to brown; do not overbake. Cool completely. Store in refrigerator. I have made this without nuts and it still comes out very good!.
