Pecan Pie Bars Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar (for crust)
  • margarine (up to one stick)
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Container: 7- x 11-inch pan

  • Combine the flour, 3 tablespoons brown sugar, and enough margarine to form coarse crumbs (the amount of margarine may vary, but simply add a little at a time to form the crumb consistency); then press the mixture into a 7- x 11-inch pan.
  • Bake at 350ºF for 10 minutes.
  • While the crust is baking, combine the eggs, the 1/2 cup of brown sugar, melted butter, corn syrup, and vanilla.
  • Stir in the pecans; then pour the mixture onto the baked crust.
  • Bake for an additional 15 minutes. Cool and cut into bars. Yield: 18-24 bars.
