Ingredients
  • CRUST:
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • TOPPING:
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chpped
Container: 7x11-inch pan

  • Combine the flour, brown sugar, and margarine to form coarse crumbs (the amount of margarine may vary, but simply add a little at a time to form the crumb consistency); then press the mixture into a 7x11-inch pan.
  • Bake at 350ºF for 10 minutes.
  • For the topping, while the crust is baking, combine the eggs, the brown sugar, melted butter, corn syrup and vanilla.
  • Stir in the pecans; then pour the mixture onto the baked crust.
  • Bake for an additional 15 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
