Peanut Butter Criss-Crosses Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 cups shortening
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups peanut butter
  • 6 cups sifted flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • sugar for pressing
Container: Cookie sheet
Directions
COOK

  • Cream together the first 5 ingredients until light and fluffy.
  • Stir in the peanut butter.
  • Sift together the dry ingredients; then add to creamed mixture..
  • Rollinto walnut-sized balls and press with a fork dipped in sugar.
  • Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 350ºF for 10 minutes. Cool on racks and enjoy! Yield: 10 dozen.
