Giant Sugar Cookies Recipe

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 teaspoons milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 2/3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  • Cream the shortening, sugar, and brown sugar together.
  • Add the eggs one at a time; then add the milk and vanilla.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and blend well.
  • Chill the dough for one-half hour.
  • Roll out the dough and use a cookie cutter to create individual cookies. Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake 9 to 11 minutes.
