German Chocolate Brownies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 ounces German chocolate
  • 1/3 cup margarine or butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup nuts
  • 2 tablespoons cream
  • 1 2/3 cups coconut
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
Container: 8- x 8-inch baking pan
Directions

  • Melt the chocolate and margarine (or butter); cool.
  • Beat the eggs; add the sugar and stir well. Add this mixture to the melted chocolate; then add the vanilla.
  • Stir in the flour, baking powder, salt, and nuts.
  • Spread the dough in a greased 8- x 8-inch pan.
  • For the topping, mix the cream, coconut, and brown sugar; then spread this mixture over the dough.
  • Bake at 350ºF for 25-30 minutes.
