Chocolate Mayo Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup water - cold
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • WHITE FROSTING
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • Mix together the dry ingredients and then add the water.
  • Fold in the mayo.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Bake in 9 x 13 pan at 350° F for 35 - 40 minutes.
  • Test with toothpick.
  • For Frosting: Cook milk and cornstarch until thick. Cool.
  • Cream butter, sugar, salt and vanilla.
  • Add creamed ingredients to cooled milk and beat well.
