Peanut Butter Swirls Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter, chunky style
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 1/4 cups flour, sifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
Cream shortening and sugar until light. Beat in peanut butter, egg and milk. Sift together dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture. Place dough on lightly floured wax paper; Roll in 15 x 8 x 1/4" rectangle. Melt chocolate over hot water. Cool slightly; spread over dough. Roll like jelly roll, lifting wax paper slightly with each turn. Chill 30 minutes. Slice cookies 1/4" thick. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes.
