Frosted Banana Bars Recipe

If you need a great recipe to use up those bananas that have ripened too much, you can stop looking. These are moist and delicious not to mention plenty of cream cheese frosting.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups bananas, mashed (3 medium)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • FROSTING:
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, bananas and vanilla.

Combine the flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Pour into a greased 10x15x1 inch baking pan. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes or until bars test done; Cool.

For frosting, cream butter and cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla, beat well. Spread over cooled bars.
