Holiday Breakfast Casserole Recipe

Ingredients
  • 12 slices bread, no crusts
  • 8 ounces swiss cheese
  • 1 1/2 pounds ham, sliced thin (or ham steak, cubed)
  • 6 slices American cheese
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 1/2 cups crushed cornflakes
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
Directions
In a buttered 13"x9"x2" pan, place first 6 slices of bread, layer half of the ham, half of the Swiss cheese and all 6 pieces of American cheese. Repeat with remaining bread, ham and cheese. (This can be done the night before, wrap with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.) Just prior to baking, mix eggs, milk and spices and pour over the bread. Mix the cornflakes and butter and sprinkle evenly over the top of the entire casserole. Bake at 400 for 35-45 minutes until eggs are set.
