Kolache Dough 2 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 cup scalded milk
  • 3 tablespoons oleo
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted oleo
Directions
Cool milk to lukewarm and sprinkle with yeast. Set aside. Cream oleo, sugar and salt until fluffy. Add egg, yeast mixture and enough flour to make a soft dough. Knead dough until smooth and put in greased bowl. Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).

Shape into balls about 2" across and put into greased pan,. Cover and let rise until doubled (about 30 to 40 minutes). Brush with melted oleo. Make deep hole with thumb and press out to make bigger. Fill indentation with chosen filling. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. Makes about 20 kolaches.
