Easy Yeast Rolls 2 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 package yeast or 1 T. dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups unsifted flour
  • oil
Directions
Dissolve 1 pk yeast or 1 T of yeast in 1 cup warm water and set aside

Cream shortening, sugar and salt with a fork. Mix egg into creamed mixture. Add dissolved yeast mixture. Add unsifted flour and mix. Form into a mound in the same pan, sprinkle with a little oil, cover with a thin, damp towel and let dough rise until double in thickness (about 2 hours). Punch it down, roll it out, cut it into whatever shapes you want it in and put on an ungreased cookie sheet to rise again until double plus in size. Preheat oven to 350° during second rise. Bake for 15 min. Delicious hot from the oven with butter on them. They make your house smell wonderful and can mask huge cooking mistakes. Smile now!
