Cinnamon Buns Recipe

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 package yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoon sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons soft butter, divided
  • Cinnamon sugar
Heat milk and butter until butter is melted. Into bowl combine sugar, salt and milk mixture. Let cool. Dissolve yeast into warm water. Let set for 5 minutes. Add to cooled mixture along with egg and 1-1/2 C. flour. Beat (stir) until smooth. Add remaining flour to make a soft dough. On floured surface, knead dough. Place in greased bowl, turning to grease top. Let rise for 1/2 hour, punch down and divide in half. Roll each half into rectangles. Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on each and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Roll up and seal seams. Cut each with string (not a knife) into 6 rolls. Place in greased baking pan and let rise until double (approx. 1-1/2 hrs.) Bake at 375° for 20 to 25 minutes.
