O' Henry Bars Recipe

Ingredients
  • 6 cups quick oats (uncooked)
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3/4 cup white corn syrup
  • Topping
  • 1 1/2 cups peanut butter
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
Directions
Measure oatmeal into large bowl. Add brown sugar and mix well until there are no brown sugar lumps. Add butter, vanilla and syrup. Mix thoroughly. Place on a greased jelly roll pan. Spread and flatten with a fork. Bake in a 350° oven for 20 minutes. Melt chocolate chips and add peanut butter. Spread on warm bars. Will take a couple hours for chips to cool before cutting into bars.
