Cherry Slice Bar Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • Frosting
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Milk
Directions
Beat first 4 ingredients at medium speed, 2 minutes until light and fluffy. Gradually add flour, baking powder and salt. Beat well. Spread in 13 X 9-inch pan saving some of batter for on top (about 1 1/2 - 2 C.). Spread cherry pie filling over dough. Spread rest of dough over cherries. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Frosting; mix together powdered sugar, butter and enough milk to form a glaze. Drizzle over warm bar.
