Mixed Nut Bars 4 Recipe

  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 12 ounces butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup white syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (13 ounce)
Mix 1 C. butter, flour, sugar and salt together like pie crust until crumbly. Pat into an ungreased 10 by 15" or larger cookie sheet. Pat crust up sides of pan. Bake crust at 350° for 10 minutes. Heat butterscotch chips, syrup, water and 1/4 C. butter over hot water or in a heavy bottom pan until chips are barely melted. Pour over crust and top with 1 can of mixed nuts. Bake at 350° for 10-15 minutes. Edges are bubbling, center will look moist. Do Not Over Bake! Cut into squares when cool.
