Béchamel Sauce Recipe

Servings: makes 1 cup
Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup half & half, warm
  • salt & pepper to taste*

  • Over medium heat, melt butter in a small sauce pan.
  • Add flour. Whisk until smooth, approximately 1 minute.  Add warm half and half; continue to whisk. Cook an additional 3 to 4 minutes or until thick and bubbling.
  • Remove from heat.  Season to taste.*

    *Use white pepper if desired.
