Green Beans Sauteed with Garlic Recipe

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, ends snipped
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

  • Bring the water to a boil in a large saucepan and add the fresh beans. Cover and simmer for about 5 minutes or just until the beans are a crisp-tender. Drain and set aside.
  • Melt the butter in the large skillet over medium heat. Saute the garlic in the butter until lightly browned.
  • Add the green beans and season with the salt and pepper. Saute for about 1 or 2 minutes or just until the beans are heated all the way through. The beans should be just slightly browned.
  • Serve immediately while hot.

"My husband loves fried green beans so I tried this recipe instead of frying them as I normally do. They were good but we like them fried a little more than this recipe calls for. I should have just fried them a little longer anyway. I don't use garlic when I fry them using my recipe but I liked the flavor it added."
