Asparagus Baked in Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Sharp processed American cheese, shredded
  • 4 cups hot Asparagus, drained
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon Butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
Directions
Melt butter over low heat. Blend in flour, slat and dash of pepper. Add milk. Cook quickly, stirring continually until sauce thickens. To sauce add cheese and asparagus. Pour in 1 qt. casserole. Toss crumbs with melted butter; sprinkle on top of vegetable. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
